Deep Work Out Loud Trailer
Speaker: [00:00:00] Hi, I'm Julie Harris Oliver, and welcome to my new podcast. Deep Work Out Loud. If you've been with me on my previous podcast, you know I have spent years talking to incredible people, mostly in Hollywood about the intersection of culture, creativity, and careers. And if you're hearing this on the other 50% feed, I'm gonna ask you to jump over to the deep work, out loud Feed and subscribe over there.
Now for about a decade, I held down various executive jobs while podcasting on the side, and I have said many times, it is my favorite thing to do. If I could just spend my days asking people questions about themselves and having deep and vulnerable conversations, I'd be in heaven. Turns out that's a job.
I mean, that's a wild simplification, but a job nonetheless. It's called executive or leadership, or transformational coach. So I went back to school and I got trained and certified by the Hudson [00:01:00] Institute and the International Coaching Federation. Now I work with high potential and high performing individuals to remove obstacles and get unstuck so they can level up and step into fulfilling their potential and living the life they wanna lead with purpose and on purpose.
And that's what brought me here. After nearly a decade of podcasting on and off, asking people questions and sharing moments with them of vulnerability, successes, artistic sensibilities and visions of how much better the world would be if it were equitable, just in kind, I needed to figure out what my role was in this.
I started coaching because I kept seeing patterns in leaders, in teams, and even myself that I understood could shift with the right conversation. I became fascinated by what happens when people stop rushing for answers and took the time to start exploring questions deeply like the question underneath the question, and maybe [00:02:00] sometimes one layer after that.
This new podcast is a continuation of that curiosity. It is about sitting with ideas that are layered and meaningful and, and might even be messy. I'll be inviting other coaches to dialogue with me, exploring concepts that we've seen in our work or have thought about or. I've read about and, and seeing what insights emerge in real time.
My goal is also to give you the listener a taste of what it might be like to think with a coach, to notice, to reflect and leave with something that you can use in your leadership or your life. Each episode will be short, about 30 minutes, but hopefully deep we'll explore one concept or one question and walk through it together.
You'll hear the back and forth of inquiry, the aha moments, the insights that arise when you're really willing to sit with a question rather than rush to an answer. And for people who are used to knowing things, that can [00:03:00] be really hard. And hopefully there will be just as much laughter as we're used to because for all of its bananas, life and human behavior can be very funny.
I'd love for you to join me on this experiment, subscribe to Deep Work Out Loud, so you never miss an episode, and connect with me at julieharrisoliver.com if you wanna continue the conversation or if you wanna work with me. And here's a small invitation. Notice one area in your work or life where you've been struggling to get an answer or figure something out and see what questions might open up if you allowed yourself to sit with curiosity.
Sit in the place of not knowing. Thank you so much for being here. I'm excited to explore these ideas with you. I can't wait to see what emerges when we think together. This is deep work out loud. I'm Julie Harris [00:04:00] Oliver.
